Statement of Faith |
1.We believe all 66 books of Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
2. We believe that there is only one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
3. We believe in the deity of Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory.
4. We believe that salvation consists in the remission of sins, the imputation of Christ's righteousness, and the gift of eternal life received by faith alone, apart from works.
5. We believe that for the salvation of the lost and sinful men regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
6. We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is able to live a godly life.
7. We believe in the resurrection of the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
8. We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.
9. We believe that all aspects of our lives are to be lived to the glory of God under the Lordship of Jesus Christ.
10.We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members.
11. We believe in the imminent return of Jesus Christ for all believers. The rapture of the saints will be followed by the seven year period called the Tribulation, then the thousand year earthly reign of Christ, and ending with the eternal reign of Christ in the new heaven and new earth.
12. There are two ordinances that have been instituted by the Lord Jesus: believer's baptism and the Lord's Supper. Neither of these has, in itself, the power to save men from their sins, but are outward symbols of inward, spiritual realities.

Mission Statement
Piedmont Community Impact Organization, Inc.
is devoted to providing outreach ministry and community service
that will effect a positive change in the lives of those we
serve. a positive way.
This will be achieved by:
1. Transcending racial, denominational and theological barriers by establishing partnerships within the faith-based community to achieve the mission of outreach and community service.
2. Providing assistance to poor, homeless and needy citizens throughout the region.
3. Serving as a support network for youth, senior citizens and other service groups.

Piedmont Community Impact Organization, Inc. formerly the Concerned Christians of Evington and Vicinity, Inc. is a 501 c (3) faith-based non-profit
and a member agency of the United Way of Central Virginia. Chartered in the state of Virginia, June 4, 1997, Piedmont serves the citizens of Campbell County and the four bordering jurisdictions (Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford and Lynchburg City).
In 2005, Piedmont expanded the service area to include Franklin County in Southwest Virginia.
In 2007, another expansion of service area was done to
include the counties of Charlotte, Halifax and Pittsylvania.
The inception of Piedmont was divinely inspired. When the Founder and President Russ Lomax,
shared the vision with the group assembled, it did not take long for willing workers to step forward. Piedmont’s concept appealed to many people because it presented an opportunity to serve “outside of the box”. It offered alternative methods to address unmet needs within the communities. Ideas to meet those needs ranged from Senior Citizens Group, assistance for rent and utilities and youth programs.
Diligence, commitment and hard work are the backbone of Piedmont’s success. This is best exemplified by the support received over the years. There has never been a shortage of persons who acknowledged a call upon their lives and the desire within their hearts to serve.
As part of the goals, Piedmont has hosted many Ecumenical Unity
Services. A wonderful dialog between different denominations established

a working relationship that had lasted throughout
our communities and particularly the churches.
During the early years, volunteers were an
integral part of our organization. Many tireless hours were donated for the benefit of those being served.

Over the last ten years, we
have forged many community partnerships with the Department of
Social Service, Campbell County Schools, the Virginia
Cooperative Extension, the Central Virginia Community Services
Board, the Alliance for Families and Children, Big Brothers/Big
Sisters, the Virginia Skyline Council of Girl Scouts and the Boy
Scouts of America. Piedmont currently operates five programs;
Camp Philadelphia, Kids Deli, Helping Hands, College Bound and
Project Manna. While not addressing every need of each
individual, each program is design also lends itself to
assisting other agencies in collaboratively meeting presented
needs.

Piedmont recently
celebrated the 10th Year Anniversary, with a wonderful
celebration at Timberlake Christian Church in Lynchburg, VA.
Charter members were among our invited guest along with the
former pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Pastor John Herman.
During the celebration, we enjoyed a leisurely stroll down
memory lane. We concluded that God has blessed us and is
still blessing us. We have new projects in the works.
We are privileged to have been in a position to serve
hundreds of children and individuals over the years. And we
eagerly anticipate the future.
